Curran Plumbing has experienced another successful year, even though 2021 was challenging for the industry and our customers. We were able to safely provide regular services and share advice to help our wonderful customers throughout the year.
Homeowners were spending more time at home contemplating household repairs and upgrades, so we focused on supporting their goals. Our team put together articles for customers explaining what tasks you can tackle, and when you need the expertise of a professional plumber to resolve problems.
TV’s Jason Hodges tutors Curran customers
Curran’s blogs kicked off in January with tips on the first step – locating your water meter and turning it off. Videos provide an easy way to master manual tasks, so in April television presenter Jason Hodges followed up with a video tutorial on reading your water meter.
Jason Hodges’s quick tutorials – exclusive to Curran customers – became a big hit. This year he also presented video tutorials on: the daunting – How to Use a Plunger to Clear a Blocked Toilet (June); the essential – How to Replace a Tap Washer (August); and the ingenious – How to Install a Showerhead Restrictor to disarm your teenagers (October).
Get the professionals in
As our articles explained, a better understanding of home maintenance issues also helps you to pinpoint where the professional plumbing cavalry is required.
With this year’s lockdowns many householders had the time to itemise lists of jobs requiring a plumbing professional, like water heater maintenance, but were enduring financial stress and uncertainty.
Keep up to date
Plumbing expertise also means keeping up and with the latest regulations. In 2021 national construction code changes to tap fittings – to address lead contamination concerns – were flagged, so Curran Plumbing explained the implications for consumers. An article on Covid Safety in July assured customers of our additional safety protocols for home services.
Pipe relining and water purifying technology
Our company continued to invest in new technology, as our articles explained. As one of the first plumbing companies in Australia to offer a pipe relining service, in February we were happy to revisit durable pipe relining and its economic and environmental benefits, and include a video from Jason Hodges showing pipe relining techniques. In August we provided a rundown of the latest in water purifying technology.
Connect with our community
Curran Plumbing is a family company that has been in business for more than 30 years, and has always placed a strong emphasis on community ties. In April we acknowledged the local sporting clubs, charities and community events that we sponsor: Tarrawanna Blueys; Woonona Bulli JRLFC; Kidzwish; Berry Show Society and Cronulla Seagulls.
Curran Plumbing also took part in the Berry Merry Christmas street parade in December! We were also glad to donate $1000 to the Berry Rotary Club to go towards some of their amazing work.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
The team at Curran Plumbing would like to thank our customers for their continued support throughout 2021. Have a Merry Christmas with your loved ones and a safe and happy New Year.
For your convenience, we will be available for the Illawarra, Shoalhaven area, and across the Sutherland Shire right throughout the Christmas holiday period.
