This months fast five blog post is with one of our Service Technicians, Steve. Steve has been with the Curran Plumbing team for some time now. He has consistently been a hard worker and remained professional on the job. We hope you enjoy getting to know a little bit more about Steve below.
What got you into plumbing?
“Once I finished my HSC, I was wanting to do a trade which involved doing something different every day. I started a pre-apprenticeship at TAFE and they helped me find my first job with a plumbing company… the rest is history. ”
What’s your favourite part about plumbing?
“I really enjoy meeting customers and helping them with any issues or questions they may have.”
“For example, the pipe relining we use at Curran Plumbing allows us to give our customers a variety of options in relation to their sewer and stormwater drainage problems that they might not have previously known where avaliable.”
What do you like to do outside of plumbing?
“I like to do anything outdoors. I enjoy going away camping for the weekend, taking my kayak and bike etc.”
Steve’s #1 tip for aspiring plumbers
“Ask your local TAFE if there are any courses you could do to get your foot in the door with a local plumbing company to help get you started.”
What’s something about you (outside of plumbing) that always surprises people when they find out?
“People are always really surprised to find out I was born in New Zealand.”
